That notion relegates crypto to a collectible at best and a Ponzi at worst. Moreover, "what the market will pay" is not a fundamental value. This also disregards the demonstrable fact that crypto markets are anything but "free."

Crypto markets are grossly manipulated. Somewhere north of 70% of all ICOs are naked scams. There is zero transparency in market making which also comes with massive conflicts of interest, self-dealing and fraud.

Devs, early and late seed capital, market makers, insiders and exchanges make a mint. Retail gets rekt. Over and over and over again to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars.

Put another way, if everyone that holds Ethereum sells it, what's it worth?

Nothing.
